Dr. Giuseppe Cardaropoli an authority in Experimental Research in Periodontology and Implantology has been appointed as an Assistant Professor in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry in 2006. Former Director of Experimental Research in the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at NYU. Dr. Giuseppe Cardaropoli became D.D.S. at the University of Turin, Italy. He Holds the Speciality in Periodontology and the PhD in Periodontology at Goteborg University, Sweden (mentors: Prof. Jan Lindhe and Prof. Jan Wennström). He got the Certificate in Oral biology, in Advance Biomaterials and in Experimental Laboratory Animal Science at Goteborg University.
Previously was Researcher at the Department of Periodontology at Goteborg University and Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology at University of Siena. He is Lecturer at the Master in Periodontology, Università La Sapienza Roma, Italy. The expertise of Dr. Cardaropoli are related to experimental and clinical research regarding the healing dynamics in extraction sites and bone defects, ridge alteration following tooth extraction and implant placement.
Dr. Cardaropoli is member of the Editorial Board of Clinical Oral Implant Research, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. Member of the Editorial panel of Journal of Periodontology, Reviewer for Journal of Clinical Periodontology. Dr. Cardaropoli is ITI fellow. Member of the Implantology Research Group of IADR and is part of Biomaterials Research Center, University of Goteborg. Active member of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIDP), European association for Osseointegration (EAO), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), Italian Society for Osseointegration (SIO). Member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), Implantology Research Group (IADR) and Fellow of the International College of Dentistry.It is member of the Research Committee of AO.
Dr. Cardaropoli published several publications in international peer review journals. Recipient of the Acta Odontologica Scandinavica Awards 2008 together with Dr. Leonhardt for the best article published in 2007 and for excellent contributions to dental research.
