Ronald S. Brown, DDS, MS

Ron Brown attended the University of Maryland and graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1971. He served in the US Army Dental Corps at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and returned to the Washington, DC Metro area in private practice in Northern Virginia and DC. He completed postdoctoral education in pharmacology and oral medicine at Georgetown University with an MS in 1988. Since then, he has had faculty positions at Georgetown University School of Dentistry and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and presently at Georgetown University Medical Center and Howard University College of Dentistry and as a volunteer researcher at NHLBI/NIH. His areas of research concern oral medicine, clinical trials, oral graft vs. host disease, and drug-induced gingival overgrowth. He is a reviewer for JADA, General Dentistry, Oral Diseases and Triple O and on the editorial board of Dentistry Today. He has over seventy published journal articles, over a dozen combined published books and book chapters and has lectured widely. His mentors include Drs. William K. Bottomley, William T. Beaver, Samuel Dreizen, Jens J. Pindborg and Sol Silverman Jr.
